The Blue Devils

The CCSU Fight Song is a simple little tune, and unfortunately, nobody seems to know who wrote it. For fun, I “rearranged” the melody, made it the trio, and wrote a complete march around it. I discovered that the fight song melody really shines once it has foundation and substance. The march also features the CCSU Alma Mater “Madrid”, which can be heard in the conversational second strain and breakstrain. Also, listen for the “Devil’s Interval” during the trio, which is to be played in a taunting manner. I also wrote lyrics for the trio:

So let us cheer the blue and white!

Let it be heard through day and night.

Her chorus, let us send!

Blue Devils fight ‘till the end!

O’ let us hail her glorious name,

when Central State brings home the game!

So fight, men of gallant strength

For CCSU. (GO BLUE!)

The march is now the official fight song for the CCSU Blue Devil Marching Band.
